  • General: Changes to the background color, lighting and imaging size can be performed. These general changes effect every layer in the current viewing window.
  • Stick: Changes made to the stick model effect both stick model and ball and stick models. All changes to color effect only the current selected chain, allowing one to indicate chains via colors.
  • Ball: Changes made to the ball model effect both ball and stick and space filling models. All changes to color effect only the current selected chain.
  • Ribbon: Ribbon models can be changed in color, resolution, and helix/sheet width. All changes to color effect only the current selected chain. All changes to resolution and helix/sheet width require regeneration of the model and may take a few moments, indicated by a progress indicator in the preferences panel.
  • Surface: Surface models can be changed in surface color. Surface models are generated using a rolling ball algorithm, indicated by 'probe'. Probes are inactive by default. Probe radius effects the detail of the surface: a smaller probe yields more detail as opposed to a larger radius probe. Changes to the probe requires surface regeneration and may take a few moments, indicated by a progress indicator in the preferences panel.
